Decades of enjoying a career as a scientific illustrator and study to Masters level learning printmaking have shaped Rhyll’s current art practice. She delights in making nature inspired prints and sharing her discoveries.
Overview
Original prints made directly from specimens such as plants or feathers appear as early as the 15th Century in explorer’s travel journals.
Today, modern inks and the printing press allow students the experience of reproducing a detailed image from a specimen simply for the joy of creating it.
In this workshop, Rhyll will share the outcomes of original experiments, teaching accessible methods of nature printing proven to delights participants of all levels of skill and enthusiasm.
