Painting with Light: Cameraless Photographics with Tara Gilbee

Tara Gilbee is a lecturer at several Universities, teaching contemporary photography and other creative subjects. She also provides arts education through various other organisations.

She has been an Artist in Residence at numerous institutions both nationally and internationally and is represented in public and private collections.

Overview

In this workshop you will be introduced to cameraless photographic practice covering some practical hands-on creative experimentation with simple material ideas.

This introduction to alternative photography opens up the world of contemporary artists who embrace Eco photography.

Using materials provide by your tutor we will explore the alchemy of light, natural dyes and silver sensitive paper prints. Providing an opportunity to be guided through the creative history, applications, and experimentation possible for this innovative approach to photography.

The workshop is an opportunity to begin your journey in this field. Further workshops will be run in the second half of the year.
