Clayton Tremlett is a Castlemaine-based Printmaker whose works draw explicitly from Australian History. He is renowned for his linocut portraiture; which he utilises to produce wallpapers, artist’s books, collector cards and editioned prints.
His work is included in the Australian National Gallery, Bendigo, Castlemaine, Geelong, Hamilton, Mornington Peninsula, Wangaratta, Warrnambool and State Library of Victoria collections
Overview
Linocut Portraiture explores the essential elements of linocut printmaking and portraiture. Participants learn the basics of developing an image, transferring the image to a lino block, then carving, proofing and printing your portrait on archival printmaking paper.
I suggest you choose and bring a portrait image to use as reference in the development of your print.
