Clayton Tremlett’s work examines Australian history and culture, following sustained periods of research. He exhibits regularly in regional and public galleries across Victoria.

The artist has twenty years’ experience in arts education, with his highly popular Linocut Portraiture workshops facilitated for Bendigo, Geelong and Zart professional development programs. He returns to Redshed for 2025 having delivered 2 successful print workshops in etching and drypoint techniques last year.

Clayton Tremlett is represented in the Australian National Gallery, Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine, Geelong, Monash University, Mornington Peninsula, Wangaratta, Warrnambool and State Library of Victoria collections.

Overview

Linocut Portraiture explores the essential elements of linocut printmaking and portraiture.

Participants learn the basics of developing an image, transferring the image to a lino block, then carving, proofing and printing their portrait on archival printmaking paper.

Choose and bring a portrait image to use as reference in the development of your print.

No previous experience necessary.
