Overview
A deeper dive into a practical understanding of colour.
This course will examine the use of colour by Pierre Bonnard and Édouard Vuillard.
Through collectively replicating over-sized versions of paintings by these masters, you will look at their sophisticated use of under-and over-painting, how they maniuplate colour combinations to achieve surprising and unexpected colour harmonies to dramatise a painting.
As well as developing a more complex understanding of colour principles, along the way you will look at anamorphic grids, the use of gesso, drawing up, blocking in, under-painting and other fundamentals of building up a painting.
This course is suitable for people who wish to take their understanding of the fundamentals of colour further.
