David Golightly is a well-known artist who lives in Newstead. His work has been exhibited in galleries, including in Castlemaine, and via Open Studios. David is a very experienced teacher. He holds a Masters degree in Vis Arts, Dip Art and Design majoring in ceramics and printmaking
Overview
This course explores links between figurative drawing and abstraction.
Each week, students will be introduced to various topics, subject matter and techniques that are designed to set out a logical pathway to a creative interpretation utilising varying degrees of abstraction.
Week 1 – Gestural drawing
Week 2 – Drawing with paint
Week 3 – Mixed Media
Week 4 – Working on different materials
Week 5 – Pure Abstraction
Week 6 – Finished large scale work
The course will cover drawing methods, mixed media and painting.
