Screenprinting Repeat Patterns with Libby Noblet

Tuesdays starting 7th May for 4 weeks

10 am - 4 pm

After teaching Art & Craft at secondary level, Libby completed a Diploma of Studio Textiles at RMIT, and then taught for over 12 years before moving to Central Victoria.

Overview

The process of designing a pattern repeat is often done using digital technology today. However, in this course the experience is done by hand.

The fundamentals of the design process for this method will be thoroughly covered through the experience. We will transform your initial paper design to film to a permanent stencil on screen using photographic exposure.

We will be using water-based transparent binder onto cotton drill fabric to print the all over patterns.

The initial design is done in black and white, however the final print/s will be whatever colours you like.

The course is suitable for all levels from beginners to the more experienced.

Libby’s approach to teaching is thorough but relaxed, with the aim for participants to have an enjoyable social time with like-minded people and take something home that they want to show off.

Course cost $440

(Includes cotton drill fabric, inks, emulsions, screens, drafting film, litho paper, stencil opaque and other materials and equipment)
