David Golightly lives in Newstead and may well be familiar to you through Open Studios. He will be teaching creative drawing, with an emphasis on not only basic drawing skills but on breaking rules, risk taking and experiment. David is a very experienced teacher. He holds a Masters degree in Vis Arts, Dip Art and Design majoring in ceramics and printmaking.

Overview

Creative drawing with an emphasis on not only basic drawing skills but on breaking rules, risk taking and experimentation.
 
The first three weeks covers experimental and creative drawing exercises to loosen up drawing method, observe the whole subject matter rather than small details, sharpen observation, introduce ways of ‘seeing’ and increase creative awareness.
 
The second three weeks involve slow drawing, closer observation, looking at details, playing with
composition and arrangement, exploring lines of enquiry, working towards finished pieces, introducing colour.
